What are the benefits of upgrading your vinyl?

  • Easier maintenance.
  • More layers or thicker layers increase durability.
  • Better pattern/color selection.
  • Inlaid products look new longer.
  • Urethane wear layer for better protection.
What are the different kinds of vinyl?
  • Thickness: Variety of thicknesses available, with thicker styles indicating higher durability. Thicker styles better able to disguise subfloor variation.
  • Widths: 6 ft. or 12 ft.; may require seaming depending on room size.
  • Finish: Varies from high gloss to semi-gloss to matte.

What are other facts about vinyl you should know?
  • Sheet vinyl is produced in 6-foot and 12-foot widths. Seams are created when installing side-by-side widths, but will be sealed at the time of installation.
  • Seam sealant may have a slightly different sheen level than the actual vinyl and therefore may be slightly visible.
  • All sheet vinyl floors are susceptible to being torn or dented by heavy objects.
  • Always use extra care when moving heavy objects, furniture and appliances. Roll appliances and other heavy items over a piece of plywood as a protective measure.
  • The extremely high forces exerted by high-heeled traffic (dynamic loads of 1,000 PSI or more) may visibly damage resilient flooring, and will not be covered by the warranty.
  • All sheet vinyl is susceptible to being torn or dented by heavy objects such as knives or dropped cans.
