Your Finished Home
Your new dream home is finished and you are excited about moving in. Your builder will
now provide you with a new home buyer's packet that is so full of literature, you may be tempted to set it aside and "get back to it later". But it is important to read through this information now to familiarize yourself with many important facts such as maintenance requirements, operational instructions and other knowledge that will keep you and your warranties safe.
| “Once the home is built, you will receive a comprehensive package of materials with essential reference tools.” |

Make sure your packet includes:
- Product installation warranty information
- Care and maintenance brochures
- Business cards from your builder and designer
- Customer satisfaction survey forms for both your builder and designer. They are interested in knowing how the experience was for you, if they handled it well, and if you have suggestions.
Before you attend the closing for your new home, you will conduct a final walk-through with your builder. This walk-through gives you the opportunity to:
- View the home and see your finished product, complete with your options added
- Ask questions about operating any unfamiliar appliances or other devices
- Discuss any concerns you may have
The National Association of Home Builders (NAHB) has a sample final checklist you can use during your walk-through.
